MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS

Members must participate in 6 hours of maintenance per year which may include working bees/project days. A project day is generally but not always considered to be an organised club event of approximately 2 hours in duration. The member’s assistance should be meaningful and generous in nature. As some of the work undertaken is heavy, both Mums and Dads are required to assist, and children are also welcome to participate in light/safe duties under the watchful eye of a parent or guardian.

Executive Committee members, active Instructors and social members are exempt from project days but are not necessarily prohibited from voluntarily participating in any form.

The executive committee has the ability to approve various alternative contributions from members in-lieu of the member attending project days (e.g. member mows the grounds at times other than at organised project days or member contributes in other meaningful and valuable manner).
Dates of each project day will be displayed on the Pony Club web site and on the Facebook page.

Members must bring their own personal protection equipment e.g. gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, gaiters etc.
Members must sign in so that a record of their attendance is kept. This can be done in advance or on the day.
Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

In the event of at least one nominated family member (representing their family) not meeting the clubs required minimum attendance of three project days in the year, the club will charge that family a $70 fee for each of the three project days not attended. (ie $210 if no Maintenance Day’s attended).

Notes
· The club needs the members to actively participate by volunteering, stepping-up and doing the maintenance around the club rooms and grounds. Please don’t leave it to the same old few.
· Members are also expected, in addition to maintenance days, to freely assist with all the various chores that need to be done at organised events and rally days (e.g. assembling novelty’s and jumps and putting the equipment away at the end of the day, assisting in the canteen and other voluntary tasks. It’s a club and the members do these jobs. Nobody is paid to do them.
