MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS
Maintenance Levy & Project Days
Prior to membership approval, families are required to pay a maintenance levy as a bond of $210.
To redeem this levy, members must complete 6 hours of maintenance per family per year. This may include participation in working bees and/or project days.
A project day is generally (but not always) an organised club event of approximately 2 hours duration. Member participation must be meaningful and generous in nature.
As some maintenance tasks are physically demanding, both parents/guardians are expected to assist where possible. Children are welcome to participate in light and safe duties under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian.
Exemptions
- Executive Committee members and active Instructors are exempt from required project days.
- These members may still choose to participate voluntarily.
Alternative Contributions
The Executive Committee may approve alternative contributions in place of attending project days, including but not limited to:
- Mowing the grounds outside of organised project days
- Other meaningful and valuable contributions to the club
Approval must be granted by the Executive Committee.
Project Day Information
- Dates will be published on the Pony Club website and Facebook page
- Members must sign in to record attendance (either in advance or on the day)
- Members must supply their own personal protective equipment (PPE), such as:
- Gloves
- Safety glasses
- Ear protection
- Gaiters
Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Non-Attendance Fees
If at least one nominated family member does not meet the club’s minimum requirement of three project days per year, the family will be charged:
- $70 per missed project day
- Maximum charge: $210 (if no project days are attended)
Important Notes
- The club relies on members to actively volunteer and participate in maintaining the grounds and facilities. Please do not leave the work to the same few people.
- In addition to project days, members are expected to assist with general duties at rallies and events, including:
- Setting up and packing away equipment
- Assisting in the canteen
- Helping with other volunteer tasks
Nerang Pony Club is Non For Profit and volunteer run club. The club relies on the support of its members.
